REEF3D is capable to calculate sediment transport. It uses conventional formulae for bedload and suspended load. Then the Exner equation can be solved and the resulting erosion or deposition is used to change the bed topography. The bed is geometrically represented with a level set function (separate from the free surface). This has the advantage, that remeshing is not necessary, and thus improving the accuracy and the stability of the sediment transport algorithm.
